The May KAP session in Photosynth Form:
Several nice images from East Liberty — the shots are all nearly from the same place. This session I launched in the vacant lot adjacent to the corner of Penn Ave & Penn Circle West, then walked over towards the Cathedral of Hope. The wind was not in the same direction as the sun, so about the best image I got of the Cathedral was this:
A bit more interesting was the building I was directly over. The old East Liberty YMCA has been being converted into lofts since early 2008. Some great detailing on the building’s penthouse visible here:
Visible in the large image is the graffiti on the top of the chimney which says “98 DW Jim”, the orange post towards the top is part of a clothes drying system mounted on the roof. Looking towards Penn Ave, we get a lovely view of the shops along it. This was taken early on a Sunday morning, so not much traffic or people around:
All of these images were taken right around the corner of S Whitfield and Penn Ave
Oakland, CMU, The Carnegie Museum/Library, Junction Hollow, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Cathedral of Learning, the Cloud Factory, Craig Street, West Penn Hospital and Bloomfield!
Taken from Schenley Park.
